MAKHUSHANE VILLAGE – The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe applauded the swift response by Namakgale SAPS members leading to the arrest of 26-year-old male suspect charged with a murder of a, 26-year-old female victim from Nyakelang section one, Makhushane Village.
The police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the suspect was arrested after members of the community alerted the police about a suspect who was seen beating his girlfriend who was walking along the street. The following morning, the police were called to the house after a neighbor became concerned about the screaming voice that was heard starting from the previous night, until the next day. The neighbors suspected that the victim might have been fighting with her boyfriend . On their arrival at the house, they knocked at the door and while waiting for the response. a male came out of the house and ran away.
The Police gave chase, with the assistance of the community members, and the suspect was apprehended
They went back to the victim house and and they found a female victim on the bed, with bruises on her face and also head injuries.
The emergency medical personnel Services were summoned, and the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The motive behind the incident is still unknown at this stage, but the police investigation will reveal
The suspect will appear before Namakgale Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, charges of murder
