KHETLHAKONI VILLAGE | Bolobedu Primary School recently hosted its Career Dress-Up and Grade 7 Farewell Function on Friday 31st October 2025, where learners showcased their talents and aspirations by dressing up as professionals in various fields, such as doctors, teachers, police officers, pilots, and lawyers. This initiative aimed to expose learners to different professions and motivate them to start setting future goals.
The event was honored by His Majesty Prince Lekukela and attended by esteemed guests from various organisations, including Bolobedu South African Police services (SAPS), Bolobedu Clinic, Social Workers, Modjadji Plaza, Joe Black Management, QLTC, Jack and Eillen Krige Crèche, and members of the School Governing Body (SGB).
Principal Mr. N.D. Mkansi expressed heartfelt appreciation to parents for their support, saying, “Your efforts have made a great difference in the growth and success of our children.” He said.
During the ceremony, all Grade 7 learners received certificates, while the Top 10 achievers were awarded laptops and certificates donated by His Majesty Prince Lekukela in recognition of their outstanding performance. In his speech, the Prince emphasized self-knowledge, respect, and cultural values: “Know yourself, know what you want, and remember respect is the foundation of success.” He also urged parents to build strong, open relationships with their children.
Modjadji Plaza Center Manager, Ms. Stephanie Claasen also generously donated school bags, stationery, toiletries, and snacks to all learners, emphasizing the importance of believing in themselves and staying focused on their studies.
Guest speaker Rebotile Malatji motivated learners, saying, “You carry something special to give to the world. Choose your friends wisely, because a friend determines your future.”
Vibrant performances, including poems, modern dance, makomporera, reading aloud, gumboot dancing, and khekapa dance were perfomed where learners showcased their talents.
The celebration ended with joy, singing, and dancing, as learners, parents, and teachers reflected proudly on the Class of 2025’s achievements and wished them success in their new journey to secondary school.
