TAULOME VILLAGE | The Manduna Development Committee held a productive meeting at Ralerumo Secondary School in Taulome Village today, 18 September 2025. The gathering aimed to address pressing community challenges and share updates on ongoing developmental initiatives across their villages.
Central to the discussions was the importance of inviting vital government departments to engage directly with the community. These include the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), the Department of Labour, the South African Police Service (SAPS), as well as other relevant departments that play a key role in village development.
A critical concern raised during the meeting was the Lekgwareng-Boqa bridge project. Community members expressed grievances over the non-payment of employees by the contractor. Workers revealed that they had been made to sign three different contracts but to date, have not received their due payments as initially agreed. The committee emphasised the need for fair labour practices and accountability, while seeking immediate solutions to ensure workers are compensated.
The session further highlighted the committee’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with government structures to fast-track service delivery and development. By strengthening these partnerships, the Manduna Development Committee hopes to address challenges faced by communities and advance socio-economic growth across the villages.
