MOHLABANENG VILLAGE | Lebaka Primary School hosted its 2025 Awards Ceremony together with the Grade 7 Farewell on Tuesday, 04 November 2025 at Mohlabaneng Village. The purpose was to motivate learners to stay focused on their studies, read more books, and aim high for a brighter future.
The ceremony was honoured by the presence of several stakeholders, including the Mamaila Circuit Manager, a Traditional Councillor, the Foundations for Learning Campaign (FFLC) Chairperson, representatives from the Department of Social Development, and other community members.
Guest speaker Sister Tenga motivated learners to remain disciplined, respect their teachers, and stay committed to their education, reminding them that success requires hard work and determination. The Circuit Manager also inspired learners with her words of encouragement and promised to reward the top Grade 7 learner with R5,000 if she achieves seven distinctions in Grade 12.
Learners showcased their talents through performances such as Khekhapa, Tsonga dance, Gumboots, Brass Band, and Sarafina. Parents and the principal joined in the celebration, showing pride and excitement for the learners.
Awards were presented to the best-achieving Grade 7 learners in each subject, as well as the top three learners from Grades R to 7. Some learners were also recognised for representing the school in athletics. A special Chairperson’s Award was given to one learner, who received a full set of school uniform as a token of encouragement.
They also celebrated five learners who represented the school in the Wetland Competition and won R45,000 under the guidance of Makhubele M.B
The celebration ended with joy, pride, and laughter as everyone congratulated the Grade 7 learners and wished them success in their next chapter.
