NKOWANKOWA: The members of the Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit, together with the Mopani Tracking Team, have arrested a 37 year-old male suspect following a house robbery and kidnapping incident at JB Village, Sasekani, on Monday 05 January 2025.
The suspect Davis Khosa (37) appeared in Nkowankowa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 06 January 2025, for charges of house robbery and kidnapping and the matter was postponed to Thursday, 15 January, for possible bail application and profile.
Reportedly, on 31 December 2025, at JB Village, Sasekani, the victim was fast asleep when unknown suspects broke into the house, robbed him of his belongings, and kidnapped him.
Following the incident, members of the Provincial Murder and Robbery Unit, together with the Mopani Tracking Team, were tasked to trace and arrest the suspects involved in this offence. Through co-ordinated operational efforts, the team managed to identify the suspects linked to the commission of the crime.
The suspects were traced to their respective residences, and one suspect was successfully arrested. Upon arrest, the suspect was interviewed and subsequently led the members to the recovery of stolen property, a music system, and a plasma television. The recovered items were found at Dan Village and N’wamitwa Village.
The recovered exhibits were positively identified by the complainant as his property. Witness statements were obtained from individuals who had purchased the stolen property.
The arrested suspect was detained at Maake SAPS. The recovered property was handed in at Ritavi SAPS and registered for further investigation.
The tracing and arrest of the remaining suspects are still ongoing.
