TZANEEN | Manorvlei Primary School in Tzaneen opposite Riverside Estate celebrated Heritage Day in style, bringing together learners from different cultures to showcase their traditions. The event took place today on the 26th of September 2025.
The school have learners who are Pedi, Zulu, Venda, Tsonga, Indians, and Balobedu and they were all given a chance to shine.
The program was filled with exciting performances, including greetings in different languages, poems about where learners come from, khekhapa, Rhythm 1 song and aerobics, drama, lenyalo , xibelani dance, Mango Groove, Amapiano, kwela kwela, gumboots, and even beauty contests.
The main purpose of the celebration was to teach learners about each other’s cultures and make sure everyone feels welcome at school.
Speaking about the event, the school’s head of Department said it was all about unity, respect, and pride in who we are. The learners were excited and enjoyed the colorful day.
Manorvlei Primary hosts this event every year, and it has now become a tradition that learners look forward to. It continues to remind everyone that South Africa is stronger when we celebrate our diversity together.
