GA-KGAPANE | Mapaana Primary School held its Grade 7 farewell ceremony on Friday, 05 December 2025 at Mapaana Village, Ga-Kgapane to celebrate learners completing their primary school journey and preparing to enter high school.
The event featured lively performances, including drum majorettes drill movements, Lekompo dance, Manyalo dance, Khwela Khwela and Xibelani. The Lighthouse Brothers entertained the crowd, and one of the Grade 7 learners recited a poem that captured the spirit of the day.
Learners later changed into outfits representing their dream careers such as pilot, medical doctor, neuroscientist, dentist, teacher, police officer and accountant. They also explained why they aspire to these careers, how the professions help society and which subject streams they should choose in high school.
The ceremony was attended by teachers from daycare centres, neighbouring high schools, parents and guardians who came to support the learners on this special day.
Rev Ringane T reminded learners about the importance of education and also urged parents to be mindful of the things they say around their children. The principal, Mrs Mananyoha M.J., encouraged the Grade 7 learners to carry the values they learned and emphasised the importance of keeping their performance strong and representing the school with pride.
Learners were recognised in several categories. Academic awards included Spelling Bee, Reading Competition and Puzzle Competition. Personality awards highlighted dedication, discipline and cleanliness. The school also presented achievement awards to the best performing learners.
The day ended with pride and joy as the school celebrated the accomplishments of the class of 2025 and wished them well on their next journey.
Our news reporters, Karabo Moloisi and Shalom Kubayi covered the event.
