GA-MATSHWI | Matshwi Primary School proudly hosted a memorable Grade 7 Farewell and Awards Ceremony, celebrating the Class of 2025 as they prepare to take their next step into secondary education today on Wednesday 03 December 2025 at Matshwi village. The event brought together teachers, parents, community members, and learners for a day filled with inspiration, entertainment, and recognition of academic excellence.
Learners showcased their talents with outstanding performances, including Manyalo, Tsonga dance, Sarafina, Amapiano, drama, folklore (traditional dances), Biri Marung, Fashion show, boys choir (Ode to Joy – L van Beethoven TTB ( La Mia Dorabella – W.A Mozart and school choir.
Grade 7 educator Mahowa N.B. expressed deep appreciation to parents for trusting the school with their children from Grade R to Grade 7, further urged parents to provide continued guidance and care as their children transition into high school.
Mr. Makgopa from Modjadji Circuit applauded both teachers and parents for their unwavering support. He encouraged learners to retain the knowledge they have gained, noting that secondary school builds upon the same foundation. Mr Makgopa quoted John Maxwell to encourage learners to prioritize their responsibilities and put in effort now to enjoy rewards later. “You should pay now and play later, or you will pay later and play even later.” – John Maxwell.
SGB representative Sedutla P.P. offered parting words of wisdom to the learners, stating, “Remember, without education, you are like a horse without a tail.” said Sedutla P.P.
Principal Boke D.D. in his address emphasized the importance of parental responsibility, urging them to prioritize school necessities such as uniforms. He reminded parents that they “have a family to feed, not a community to please.” To the learners, he offered guidance as they step into high school, highlighting that they will meet diverse individuals and must navigate wisely. He reaffirmed that education remains their strongest foundation.
Motivational speaker, comedian Hamilton Chase Makgothokgo, well known as Mr. Chase delivered a message, emphasizing the importance of studying, maintaining a positive attitude, and working hard to achieve one’s dreams. Sharing his personal story from Grade 7, he reminded them of the power of knowing what they want to become in life.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates, celebrating excellence in categories such as Class Representative, NSNP, Sports, Arts and Culture, Extracurricular Activities, Best Learner in Subjects, Top 10 Achievers, and Special Awards.
Matshwi Primary School praise the Class of 2025 for their resilience, achievements, and commitment. The school extends its best wishes as learners embark on their high school journey, confident that they will continue to shine.
