MOKWAKWAILA POLICE ACTIVATE MANHUNT FOR MURDER OF 25-YEAR-OLD WOMAN AT MAHEKGWE VILLAGE

MAHEKGWE VILLAGE: The police in Mokwakwaila have activated a manhunt following the murder of a 25-year-old woman at Mahekgwe village on Monday, 16 March 2026.

According to information obtained from the police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, it is reported that police were summoned to the scene at about 23:00, where they found the lifeless body of the victim lying outside a house with multiple stab wounds.

Preliminary information indicates that the victim was last seen alive earlier that afternoon by her boyfriend, who had left her at home. Upon his return later that night, he allegedly discovered her body and alerted the police.

Emergency Medical Services personnel certified the victim dead at the scene. A case of murder was registered.

The deceased has been identified as Asher Chauke (25) from Mothele village.
