LULEKANI – The Mopani District Municipality held a successful Mayoral Imbizo and Batho-Pele Day at Lulekani Community hall under Ba-Phalaborwa Local Municipality today, Friday, 05 June 2026
Acting Executive Mayor, Cllr Lucky Mohlala, outlined the municipality’s progress report for the 3rd quarter of the 2025/26 financial year during his keynote speech on behalf of Executive Mayor, Cllr Pule Shayi
The Imbizo provided a platform for the municipality to account to residents on service delivery performance, financial management, and key projects implemented during the third quarter.
“As the Mopani District Municipality, we are here to give the report to the communities about the progress of what we have done in terms of implementing the budget for the financial year 2025/26. “ said MMC Mohlala
Cllr Mohlala highlighted progress made across core service areas including water and sanitation, roads and infrastructure, waste management, and local economic development initiatives. He reaffirmed council’s commitment to improving service delivery and engaging directly with communities through platforms such as the Mayoral Imbizo.
Residents who attended the Imbizo also raised service delivery concerns and engaged the Mayor directly on issues particularly water provision affecting their wards.
