POLICE ARRESTS MOST WANTED HOUSEBREAKING SUSPECT WITH UNLICENSED FIREARM AT MAKHURUPERJI VILLAGE

GA-MAKHURUPETJI : The multidisciplinary team successfully arrested a suspected housebreaking suspect believed to have been terrorising the Modjadjiskloof community with ongoing incidents of housebreaking and theft. The suspect was located by police at his residence in Makhuruperji Village, Mopani district following intelligence on On Thursday, in the early hours of , 27 November 2025
The police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the operational team comprising Modjadjiskloof Crime Prevention,
Modjadjiskloof Detectives Westfalia Security , Canine Security, were lead by Modjadjiskloof Acting Station Commander who immediately mobilised and the various disciplines proceeded to the suspect’s home.
Upon arrival, the suspect was found asleep and a search of the premises was conducted, during which a 9mm Norinco Star firearm was discovered, along with a magazine but no live ammunition.
The suspect was arrested on the spot, and he will appear before Kgapane Magistrate’s court today on Friday 28 November 2025 on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, and Possession of suspected stolen property. The suspect is likely to face more charges as investigations are ongoing
The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe commended the collaborative effort by all units involved in ridding the area of all forms of criminality and also ensuring the safety and security of the community.
