POLICE ARRESTS ROBBERY SUSPECT DURING ROUTINE PATROL IN POLOKWANE

POLOKWANE – The Police members of the Provincial Flying Squad successfully arrested a 39-year-old suspect for common robbery following a swift response during routine patrol duties in the Polokwane CBD on Sunday, 10 May 2026.
The police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the police were conducting routine patrols in identified hotspot areas when they noticed a robbery in progress at the corner of Rissik and Paul Kruger Streets. The members immediately intervened, prompting the suspects to flee in different directions.
A foot chase ensued, leading to the successful arrest of one suspect at the scene. The victim was assisted and no injuries were reported.
The suspect has been charged with common robbery and is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court, on Tuesday, 12 May 2026.
The Police investigations are continuing.
