POLICE LAUNCH MANHUNT AFTER DOUBLE RAPE AND ARMED ROBBERY IN RAMAROKA VILLAGE

The police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba reports that an 18 year-old female victim was in Kheshokholwe village when she accepted a lift from an unknown male suspect driving a silver Toyota Avanza motor vehicle. The suspect claimed he was also traveling to Mohlabaneng village.

At Mokwakwaila four-way stop, he picked up a second female passenger who also said she was heading to Mohlabaneng.

The suspect drove to Ramaroka Cross near the Voltania Solar Plant and stopped under the pretext of needing to relieve himself.

When he returned to the vehicle, an 18 year-old victim asked him to stop a vehicle she saw on the main road that belonged to a family member.

The suspect then produced a firearm and pointed at both women and ordered the second female to lie on the ground. He threatened to shoot her if she made any noise. He re-entered the vehicle with a sharp object and threatened to stab an 18 year-old victim if she screamed.

The victim was instructed to remove her clothes and she was untimely raped by the unknown suspect.

Afterward, the suspect forcefully grabbed the second female victim who was unexpectedly raped as well by the suspect.

Following the rape ordeal, the suspect robbed the victims of two cellphones before fleeing the scene in the silver Toyota Avanza with an unknown registration number.

The victims managed to get assistance from a motorist and the incident was reported to the local police.

A manhunt for the unknown suspect is underway.
