JOHANNESBURG | Businessman Rali Mampeule has expressed gratitude to supporters who attended court proceedings in the defamation case between himself and Deputy Minister David Masondo at the South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 04 March 2026.
In a message shared after the court appearance, Mampeule thanked more than thousand people who came to support him during the matter, saying their presence meant a great deal to him and his team.
The case relates to a legal dispute between Mampeule and Masondo. Mampeule said his position remains focused on fairness and on resolving matters related to the sale of shares linked to the MetroFibre investment.
He also acknowledged receiving a letter from the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) after waiting for it for more than a year. According to Mampeule, the letter now allows parties involved to move forward with the sale of MetroFibre shares that had previously been placed on the market before the process was interrupted by PIC’s decision to seize their shares.
Mampeule stated that the aim of the sale is to allow each party to recover their investments and bring the matter to a close.
He further thanked his team, organisers and members of the public who supported him during the court appearance.
