THE INDEPENDENT ELECTORAL COMMISSION HOSTS CIVIC AND DEMOCRACY EDUCATION EVENT AT JOKONG VILLAGE

The aim of the IEC event aimed to empower Jokong residents of all ages with knowledge about their services and encourage them to participate in the 2026 Local Government Elections (LGE) by registering to vote.

The event was attended by various stakeholders, including the Department of Home Affairs, Department of Employment and Labour, South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), Mokwakwaila Thusong Centre Manager and Perfect Radio.

The stakeholders offered insights into the services they offer and provided assistance to residents who needed help, helping them with their needs and queries in different areas.
