TWO ALLEGED ACCUSED OF MURDERING LEKOMPO MUSIC PRODUCER APPEARED IN COURT

POLOKWANE- Two accused, Masheleng July Mashishi (25) and Karabo Kgoroshi Lucas Mothiba (27) from Mankweng have appeared in Polokwane Magistrates’ Court facing charges of attempted murder and murder of Lekompo producer, Gadifele Lastborn Maimela (25).

The information obtained from the NPA Limpopo spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi idnicate that on 06 April 2026 at Polokwane, the deceased was in the company of his friends at his place when they asked him to request a bolt for them. After he had requested for the bolt, he then accompanied his friends to the gate. Upon arrival at the gate, they saw the two men standing at the gate while their bolt was also there. The men then forced their way in the yard and while they were confronted a fight ensued then they produced a gun and shot at the deceased and his friend. The friend was also injured whereas Maimela succumbed to the injuries sustained. The matter was reported to the police, and the perpetrators were arrested the following day.

The matter is postponed to 16 April 2026 for formal bail application, and the accused persons remain in custody.
