GA-MOTUPA : A 36 year-old male suspect is sought by the Tzaneen Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) in connection with an attempted rape of his 57 year-old mother at Motupa village under Bolobedu policing area on Thursday, 15 January 2026
The police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba says the a case of attempted rape was opened after a 57 year-old victim was asleep in her bedroom when she felt someone covering her mouth with a cloth. She then suddenly saw a 36 year-old male suspect believed to be her son attempting to rape her.
The victim attempted to call her mother who was sleeping on the separate house, but was unsuccessful as he put a cloth in her mouth in order to silence her.
The victim managed to run to her mother’s house and informed her about the incident. The suspect managed to flee from the scene and has been on the run.
The matter was reported to the local police who opened an attempted rape case.
