The police in Tzaneen are appealing to Priscilla Mathebula to avail herself in order to assist with the investigations following the murder of a 42-year-old male Isaya Maphalle at Morutji village on Sunday, 09 November 2025 at about 20:00.
The Limpopo police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba says the police received a complaint about the reported missing man, Isaya Maphalle who was found dead at a homestead in Morutji Village and immediately proceeded to the scene of crime.
Upon arrival, an officer found a man who pointed out a human head in the yard . There was also a maize meal bag covered by the soil and buried in a shallow grave which was also found.
A strong smell came from the bag and the man allegedly informed the officer that the head that they saw , belonged to his son and that the bag contained his remains .
He further explained that his grandson had earlier seen a dog digging at the spot and later noticed the dog eating a bone, prompting him to alert his grandfather.
Further digging led to the gruesome discovery of the human body parts.
The neighbors and relatives were then called and identified the head as that of their son, who was reported missing on 04 November 2025 at Tzaneen SAPS. Police thorough investigations will determine the deceased ‘s identity and postmorterm will reveal the cause of death.
The man was reported missing by his sister after she was informed by her girlfriend, who had been staying with him since 31 October 2025, that he left without saying anything.
The girlfriend disappeared afterward, and her cellphone has remained off to date.
