TWO LIFELESS BODIES FOUND HANGED AT GA-KURANTA

GA-KURANTA - The members of the South African Police Service in Mokwakwaila under Mopani District are investigating a case of house robbery and two counts of murder involving an elderly couple aged 80 and 83 at Ga-Kuranta village.
The Police spokesperson Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba says it is reported that on Tuesday 18 March 2025 at about 20:00, police received a complaint of a murder incident at the village and rushed to the vicinity. On arrival, they were informed about two lifeless bodies of an elderly male and female victim inside separate rooms.
The report indicate that the police went inside the house and discovered an 83 year-old male tied with a rope on the neck while seated on the floor. They then proceeded to another room and found an 80 year-old female victim also tied with a rope on the neck while lying on her back facing upward and both their ropes were tied on the roof.
The members of the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned at the scene and declared the duo dead on arrival at the scene.
Both the deceased were not having visible injuries on their bodies. It is alleged that the deceased were allegedly in a relationship when they met their untimely death. Furthermore, the two cellphones belonging to the deceased were also robbed during the incident.
Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba says the deceased were positively identified by the next of kins as Maphetola Selaelo Rasodi (80) and Malekutu Alfred Mokhupi (83).
The motive of incident is currently unknown at this stage but police investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
