MDM Hands Over Sites and Contractors for The Refurbishment of Wastewater Treatments Plants

MOPANI TODAY | The Mopani District Municipality (MDM) Executive Mayor, Cllr. Pule Shayi, accompanied by Greater Letaba Municipality Mayor, Cllr. Dagma Mamanyoha, handed over site and contractors for the refurbishment of wastewater treatment works at Ga-Kgapane today, Monday, 01 June 2026. The site handovers for the refurbishment of wastewater treatment took place simultaneously across the District, including the Lulekani wastewater treatment plant, Namakgale wastewater treatment plant, Phalaborwa wastewater treatment plant, Lenyenye wastewater treatment plant, Nkowankowa wastewater treatment plant, and Giyani wastewater treatment plant. These projects are expected to reduce sewer spillages, improve operational efficiency, and create local jobs during construction.
