MOKWAKWAILA | The Greater Letaba Municipality Mayor Cllr Dagma Mamanyoha has handed over 13 wheelchairs and blankets to identified beneficiaries from various places within Greater Letaba Municipality as part of the municipality’s efforts to support vulnerable members of the community. This was part of Mandela month celebration.
The initiative forms part of the annual Nelson Mandela Day campaign, which encourages individuals and organisations to dedicate 67 minutes to community service in recognition of the 67 years Nelson Mandela spent fighting for social justice, equality and human dignity.
Through the donation of wheelchairs and blankets, as well as the improvement of community facilities through painting and tree planting, the municipality aims to uplift vulnerable residents while promoting the values of compassion, dignity, service and ubuntu that Nelson Mandela demonstrated throughout his life.
Community members are encouraged to join the municipality in making a meaningful difference, not only on Nelson Mandela Day but throughout the year by supporting initiatives that improve the lives of those in need.
