BREAKING NEWS | PARENTS DEMAND ACTION AFTER ALLEGED RAPE AT MMAPHAI PRIMARY SCHOOL

TICKEYLINE GA-MAAKE | Parents at Mmaphai Primary School in Tickeyline, Ga-Maake today, 11 September 2026, are demanding answers from the school following the alleged rape of a learner at the school.

It is alleged that the incident occurred in July 2026 in the school toilets, where a 10-year-old learner was allegedly sexually assaulted by two 15-year-old learners in Grade 7.

According to information received, the matter was reported to the family. The learner was taken to Maake Clinic and later transferred to Dr C.N. Phatudi Hospital where the alleged rape was confirmed.

The mother of the victim says her child is traumatized and no longer feels safe at school.

Parents say learning was suspended for two weeks after the incident. However, they have raised concern that the two alleged perpetrators have now returned to school, raising safety concerns for other learners.

Parents are now demanding that the alleged perpetrators be removed from the school, and are calling on the Limpopo Department of Education to intervene urgently to ensure the safety of learners at the school.

Police and the Department of Education are yet to comment on the matter.
