TZANEEN | The Greater Tzaneen Municipality says Mayor Gerson Molapisane remains in office despite recent reports about political decisions allegedly taken by the ANC Limpopo Provincial Executive Committee.
The GTM spokesperson, Neville Ndlala, says the matters relating to political deployment are handled by relevant political party structures and not the municipality.
The municipality confirmed that Councillor Gerson Molapisane remains the duly elected mayor and continues to carry out his responsibilities in line with local government laws and governance processes.
Meanwhile, Odas Ngobeni has officially been sworn in as a Proportional Representation (PR) Councillor following the resignation of former Councillor Tennyson Ngobeni last week.
The municipality says it remains fully operational and committed to service delivery, good governance and stability across communities within the municipal area.
It further stated that formal communication will be issued should there be any official changes relating to the leadership or governance of the institution.
