LIMPOPO | The new political party, Limpopo Independent Movement Alliance (LIMA) led by President Phazama Seunane has officially launched as a new political alternative ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections, with a focus on fighting injustice and ending failed service delivery across the province.
According to LIMA Secretary General Zillah Sello Manyama, LIMA aims to restore dignity in the communities by addressing core issues such as water shortages, unemployment, land access, and poor municipal governance.
“We cannot keep normalising broken systems. People have adapted to dysfunction for too long. Our focus is to restore dignity by fixing what government is supposed to deliver,” says Zillah Sello Manyama, Secretary General of LIMA.
LIMA is already building structures in municipalities across Limpopo, including Giyani, Greater Letaba, Greater Tzaneen, Polokwane, and other areas in Mopani, Vhembe, Sekhukhune, and Waterberg districts.
The party’s strategy is rooted in local government, where residents feel the impact of failed services daily from lack of water and poor clinic conditions to deteriorating roads and high unemployment.
“Change in South Africa must start in municipalities, where people experience the failure of the system every day,” Manyama added.
LIMA says various political analysts notes that while new parties often struggle to gain national traction, widespread frustration at municipal level has opened space for movements like LIMA to connect directly with communities.
With over 500 political parties registered for the 2026 elections according to the Electoral Commission of South Africa, the contest will be competitive. LIMA says its community-driven approach and focus on accountability will resonate, especially with young voters demanding responsive leadership and visible development.
“The goal is not just to win elections. It is to rebuild belief that government can work for everyone,” Concluded Zillah Sello Manyama.
