MOKWAKWAILA POLICE ARRESTS TWO SUSPECTS FOR POSSESSION OF DAGGA IN SENAKWE VILLAGE

SENAKWE VILLAGE – Members of Mokwakwaila Police arrested a 36-year-old male and a 26-year-old female for possession of dagga during crime prevention and visibility patrols in Senakwe Village on Thursday, 23 July 2026 at about 15:00

The police spokesperson, Brigadier Hlulani Mashaba says the police spotted a suspicious red VW Jetta with two occupants. The vehicle was stopped and a search was conducted with consent granted.

During the search, police discovered dagga in the boot and on the back seat of the vehicle.

The pair could not provide a satisfactory explanation regarding the origin of the dagga and were immediately placed under arrest.

Police seized dagga with an estimated street value of R9,000 and the red VW Jetta allegedly used in the commission of the crime.

The two suspects are expected to appear before the Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 27 July 2026, facing a charge of possession of dagga.

Police investigations are continuing.
