GA-KGAPANE: As part of Mandela Month commemorations, Tzaneen Community Corrections under the Polokwane Management Area today spent their 67 minutes at Ramokgwakgwa Special School in Kgapane Township.
The team donated food parcels and fruit, planted trees, and cleaned the school yard.
They were joined by various stakeholders including Kgapane SAPS, Mokwakwaila SASSA, CPF, YCOP, and other community partners.
Giving the purpose of the day, Ms Annah Shobane, Head of Tzaneen Community Corrections said:
“We chose to spend time with learners from Ramokgwakgwa Special School because we know that many people overlook spending time with these learners. We brought them food parcels and fruits. This is a school we always visit to donate something.”
The Principal of Ramokgwakgwa Special School, Mr Louis Mbhalati, expressed gratitude for the generosity shown:
“We really have a friend in Correctional Services. You have truly put a smile on our kids’ faces. Thank you to everyone and all stakeholders who made this occasion so special.”
The initiative reflects the Department of Correctional Services’ commitment to community involvement, rehabilitation, and support for vulnerable groups.
