LOCAL POLITICS | former long-serving member of the African National Congress (ANC), Tsietsi Manyama, has resigned from the party after years of service, citing a lack of space for meaningful political contribution.
In a resignation letter dated 26 April 2026, Manyama said internal dynamics such as gatekeeping, corruption, petty politics, political infighting and the silencing of differing views influenced his decision to leave the party he had been part of since his youth.
Manyama thanked supporters and party members for contributing to his political growth, saying although political paths may differ, relationships should remain.
During his time in the ANC, Manyama says he played a role in several development projects including the construction of Morapalala tar road, electrification of all Matipane new stands 2014-2016 715 households, construction of 721 RDPs Pelana, Mantswa, Senopolwa and Senakwe 2013 – 2015. Water provision, pipeline to Mantswa new stands in Matipane, High lights at Pelana and Moloko villages in 2016, lobbying for extentions of consulting rooms at senopela clinic in 2015 by DBSA.
He has since joined ActionSA, where he reportedly registered more than 70 members within two weeks and launched a branch, with recruitment said to be ongoing across ward 01 of Greater Tzaneen Municipality.
