IEC LIMPOPO TO HOST YOUTH DIALOGUE ON LOCAL GOVERNANCE AND THE 2026 LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS

TURFLOOP | The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) in Limpopo will host a youth dialogue on local governance and the 2026 local government elections at the University of Limpopo on Thursday, 14 May 2026.

The event is organized in partnership with the University of Limpopo, the South African Local Government Association (SALGA), and the Solay Foundation. It will take place at R40 Conference Hall from 14h00 to 16h00.

The IEC said the dialogue aims to give students, academics, youth leaders, civil society organisations, and Representatives of the IEC a platform to discuss local governance and democratic participation. The event seeks to foster active citizenship,

deepen democratic values, and contribute to increased youth voter registration and

participation in the 2026 Local Government Elections.
