MAPHALLE VILLAGE | Author and poet Ntsako Baloyi, famously known as Ntsako the Poet, successfully launched his book titled, The Journey of a Fatherless Child, at Maphalle Library on Monday, 29 June 2026.
Ntsako the Poet began writing The Journey of a Fatherless Child in 2023 and completed the manuscript in 2024. The book was inspired by the lived experiences of many children who grow up without fathers. By so doing, he wanted to shed light on the challenges, emotional struggles, hopes and resilience that often define their journeys.
His aim was to give a voice to children who may feel overlooked or unheard and to encourage them to believe that their circumstances do not determine their future. He further expressed his hope that this book would inspire readers to persevere despite hardships and remind them that they have the strength to overcome life’s challenges.
The programme featured live book readings, audience engagement, musical performances by Biodizzy and Man-Jeff, book signings, networking and words of encouragement from different stakeholders. Representatives from the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, Greater Letaba Municipality, Maphalle Library and other invited guests also delivered messages of support during the occasion. The Creative World Entertainment and Bolobedu Central Photography were also part of this celebration.
Ntsako the Poet expressed his heartfelt appreciation to everyone who supported him and contributed to making the initiative a success, as well as Mr Tshwale who served as an outstanding Master of Ceremonies. “Thank you all for helping make this initiative possible. Your support means a great deal and together we continue to make a positive impact in our community,” he said.
The launch showcased the importance of literature as a platform for sharing lived experiences, inspiring young people and promoting a culture of reading within the community.
