EXECUTIVE MAYOR DAGMA MAMANYOHA HELD MAYORAL IMBIZO IN MARULENG LOCAL MUNICIPALITY

The engagement was held as part of the District Municipality’s presentation on its 2026/27 First Quarter Report, giving residents an opportunity to receive updates on progress made, challenges encountered and interventions being implemented to improve service delivery in Maruleng.

Water and sanitation were among the key issues discussed, with updates provided on boreholes, water infrastructure, reticulation and sanitation projects, as well as progress relating to the Mametja Sekororo Regional Water Scheme.

The engagement also covered matters relating to local economic development, youth empowerment, infrastructure protection and other priorities raised by community members.

Government departments and stakeholders such as the Department of Health, Home Affairs and South African Police Service were also available to provide services to residents as part of the Batho Pele Day programme.

The Mayoral Imbizo provided a platform for the Municipality to account directly to residents, listen to their concerns and discuss measures aimed at addressing challenges and improving the delivery of services across Maruleng.

The event was held under the theme of strengthening engagement between government and communities through accountability, service delivery and public participation.
