MAYOR RAMALATSO LEADS SOD-TURNING CEREMONY FOR LONG-AWAITED SEKGОPO STREET PAVING PROJECT

GA-SEKGOPO | Greater Letaba Municipality Mayor Cllr Rosina Ramalatso today, Monday, 05 October 2026, led the sod-turning ceremony for the long-awaited Sekgopo street paving project following a courtesy visit to Kgoshigadi Sekgopo at the Sekgopo Traditional Authority.
The 4.3-kilometre paving project will run from Marotholong to the Traditional Council Offices, and is expected to improve mobility and access to the offices and surrounding areas.
Maleboti Construction has been appointed as the contractor, while Marungane Projects will provide engineering services for the project.
Residents have long called for the paving of the road, which is expected to improve access and contribute to better road infrastructure in the area.
The sod-turning ceremony marked the official commencement of the project, with local stakeholders and community members in attendance.
