IN PICTURES | ANC FILLS GRANDSTANDS OF NKOWANKOWA STADIUM FOR LOCALISED MANIFESTO LAUNCH

NKOWANKOWA | The ANC Norman Mashabane Region’s Markshope Sub-Region filled the grandstands of Nkowankowa Stadium today, 19 September 2026, as members gathered in numbers for a localised manifesto launch ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.

In attendance were the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL), ANC Women’s League (ANCWL), ANC Veterans League (ANCVL), South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) and the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU), as well as councillors under the Norman Mashabane Region.

REC Member, Cde Odas Ngobeni, delivered the keynote address, outlining the ANC’s promises to the community if voted into power on 04 November 2026.

In his speech, Cde Ngobeni highlighted six key action areas:

1. Water, Electricity and Roads

2. Jobs and Skills Development

3. Safe, Clean, Healthy and Resilient Communities

4. Sustainable and People-Centred Finances

5. Capable, Ethical and Accountable Government

6. Community Participation and Effective Communication

Cde Ngobeni pledged that the ANC will serve the people with humility, listen to communities, tell the truth about challenges, protect public resources and fight corruption, provide reliable basic services including water, electricity, sanitation, roads and refuse removal, and work with traditional leaders, businesses, labour, civil society and all spheres of government.

He further committed to regular reporting on promises made, open communication on shortcomings, and working to correct mistakes to build better communities together with the people.
