JUST IN: SAPS LIMPOPO ANNOUNCES NEW PROVINCIAL MANAGEMENT TEAM

POLOKWANE | The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General JP Scheepers, has formally introduced the Provincial Management Team that will lead policing, crime detection and corporate services in the province.

The team was introduced during a media briefing held today, Wednesday, 09 September 2026, at the Land Bank Building in Polokwane.

The management team comprises:

– Major General FM Sebola, Deputy Provincial Commissioner responsible for Corporate Services,

– Major General LJ Mashilo, newly appointed Deputy Provincial Commissioner responsible for Policing, and

– Major General SW Mashaba, newly appointed Deputy Provincial Commissioner responsible for Crime Detection.

Major General Sebola continues to serve in her role, to which she was appointed on 1 October 2025. She has 19 years of service in the SAPS.

Major General Mashilo has 37 years of service and previously served as the District Commissioner of Capricorn District. He will be responsible for strengthening visible policing and crime prevention.

Major General Mashaba has 38 years of service and previously served as District Commissioner of Mopani District. He will lead the Crime Detection environment, focusing on investigations and cooperation with the National Prosecuting Authority.

Collectively, the leadership brings 126 years of service to the SAPS.

Addressing the media, Lieutenant General Scheepers said the appointments must translate into stronger leadership and improved service delivery.

> “Our communities must experience the difference through professional conduct, quicker responses, quality investigations and respectful treatment at every police service point,” said Lieutenant General Scheepers.

He congratulated the newly appointed generals and called on the leadership team to discharge its responsibilities with integrity, professionalism, humility and dedication, while calling on communities to work with police to make Limpopo safer.
