LOCAL SPORTS | MOPANI DISTRICT ANNOUNCES ITS SAFA UNDER-15 SELECTION

BURGERSDORP | The South African Football Association (SAFA) Under-15 selection process in Mopani District took place at Burgersdorp Stadium on Thursday, 17 September 2026.

Under-15 players from various communities and clubs across Mopani District, gathered at the stadium with the hope of securing a place in the final 18-player squad. Following the selection process, 18 players were selected to represent the district in the final provincial selection stage.

The selected players will travel to Noordelike Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday, 20 September 2026, where they will compete against players from other districts for a place in the final Limpopo provincial squad.

The Mopani team will be led by coaches Ishmael Maluleke and Tshepo Sebopetsa.

Some of the players were disappointed after missing out on the final 18-player district squad, meanwhile those who were selected celebrated the opportunity and are now preparing for the provincial selection process in Polokwane.

The focus now shifts to Sunday, 20 September, wherein the final provincial squad is expected to be announced following the selection process at Noordelike Stadium.
