ONE SUSPECT CAUGHT WHILE ALLEGEDLY TAMPERING WITH ELECTRICITY CABLES

MOHLAKONG VILLAGE | Residents of Mohlakong Village, Ward 07, under the Greater Tzaneen Municipality, were awakened by three unknown individuals on Monday, 27 April 2026,  who were allegedly tampering with electricity cables and a transformer.

According to reports, the cables were found lying on the ground, and the suspects claimed they were fixing them. Community members became suspicious and intervened.

As a result of the alleged tampering, some parts of the village have been left without electricity for two days. The matter has since been reported to the police and to Eskom.

One suspect is currently being held by community members, while the remaining suspects reportedly fled the scene.
