GA-SEKGOPO | Community members, stakeholders, and local leaders gathered together to attend the Official Launch Of Traditional Healers Organisation and Community Health Briefing that took place today on Thursday, 30 April 2026, at Dropping Center in Ga-Sekgopo.
The event was held under the theme of Public Wellness and Heritage. The Chairperson of Traditional Health Practitioners, Dr Rabothata, outlined the purpose of the event which was based on enforcing laws that govern and regulate the practices of Traditional Health Practitioners. Dr Ngolele, on behalf of steering committee and elders, advised the generation of today’s Traditional Health Practitioners to stop modernising tradition and adhere to all indigenous cultural practices.
Stakeholder engagements included a presentation by Sekgopo Matsorang Foundation secretary Rasehlapa, Police briefing by Sergeant Ramosibudi from Modjadjiskloof SAPS, address by a representative from Greater Letaba Municipality Councillor Makgatho, as well as Mopani District and Provincial Traditional Health Organisation represented by Dr Mabunda, who emphasised that the gathering aims to promote community wellness while preserving local heritage under the slogan: Building a Healthy Community, Preserving Our Heritage.
Kgošigadi J Sekgopo delivered the keynote address, in assuring the Traditional Health Organisation that the Royal Council fully supports them and is always willing to assist where necessary.
The day concluded with the official launching of Traditional Health Organisation and cultural celebration by the Traditional Health Practitioners.
