Thousands of unemployed people in Bolobedu have gathered at Khehlakoni Community Hall on Tuesday, 25 August 2026, seeking employment from Salom Agri Letsitele.
The gathering follows an announcement by the Modjadji Headkraal that the company is seeking to employ 500 physically fit seasonal workers to pick oranges at its farm in Letsitele.
According to the announcement, the company needs 300 males and 200 females.
The recruitment drive attracted a large number of unemployed youth and community members from various villages within Bolobedu, who arrived early in the morning hoping to be considered.
Mawa Royalty Headman, Mr Mohale, said this is a step towards reducing youth unemployment in Bolobedu.
The selection process is still underway, with community members anxiously waiting to see if they will be employed.
