MEC VIOLET MATHYE HANDS OVER 55 SHOVAKALULA BICYCLES AT PULANE SECONDARY

BLOCK 05 VILLAGE | The MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Violet Mathye has officially handed over 55 Shovakalula bicycles to identified learners at Pulane Secondary School in Block 05 Village this morning on Wednesday, 29 July 2026

She was joined by Acting HoD Paul Mainganyi and Cllr Maunatlala of the Greater Tzaneen Municipality.

The handover forms part of the national Shovakalula Bicycle Project aimed at reducing the distance learners walk to school and improving safety and punctuality.

MEC Mathye encouraged learners to take care of the bicycles and to prioritise their education, saying every child deserves a safe and dignified journey to school.

The department is expected to hand over 30 more bicycles at Makobo Secondary School at Ga-Wale later today.
